Finally got round to registering for this Forum. Who followed the post on Facebook yesterday about non disabled getting accessible cabins sometimes about 6 months before sail date. How annoying is that when we all know how difficult it is for us to be able to book a cabin. In most cases the agents didn't know they were accessible cabins until near completion (allegedly) . Surely this shouldn't happen until very close to sail date.

I contributed to that thread.
I was led to understand by a TA that accessible cabins were not for general sale until a little before departure and if they were offered to someone, it was on the understanding that they may well be reassigned if it was needed by someone with accessibility needs. We book, like most others, as soon as the bookings go live otherwise it would be most unlikely that we would be able to cruise at all.
As for a TA not knowing that it was an accessible cabin, I would have thought that like the deck plans which we read, something on their system would flag this up.
I just wish that P & O would have a similar set up as Princess do, in that you are able to see on their website if there are any w/a cabins available.
